Today started "Tirreno - Adriatico" 47th edition with a team time trial, from San Vincenzo to Donoratico, 16,9-km long. Katusha Team managed to enter the top-ten: the Russian team finished the course in 19´21´´, closing in 8th position, 40´´ far from GreenEdge who won the stage. Second place for RadioShack-Nissan (+17´´); Garmin-Barracuda (+17´´) completed the podium. Matthew Goss (GreenEdge) is the first leader of the competition.

"I´m quite satisfied with today´s performance - said Valerio Piva - the result we obtained during this first stage lived up with the expectations we had, taking into account the characteristics of our team´s members. Moreover, it was the first time they took part to a race against the clock together: so, this 8th place is quite a good result".
